E58 – PUTERI HARBOR TO PULAU PISANG
Departing Puteri in the rain…
So, here we are yet again, in the rain with little wind! We left the perfectly sheltered Puteri Harbor in the company of Bruce on Astrid (our sailing mate from another adventure in Australia) and headed south down the passage between Singapore and Malaysia. It’s a very narrow stretch of water and jealously guarded maritime border between the two nations.
Further down the passage, as it began to open up, we found 10-12kts of wind giving us a beautiful sail in flat water through the many anchored large ships anchored at the port of Johor.
Leaving Johor behind, we anchored on the western side of Pulau Pisang where an annoying little swell managed to get to us from the NW but I expected a thunderstorm from the NE, so we needed the western side of the island to guarantee protection.
