E78 – NIRUP ISLAND MARINA TO PULAU TUKSABANGMAS

Departing Nirup Island Marina

We departed Nirup Island Marina after collecting our paperwork and paying the bill (5,300,000 IDR !!) and had a fantastic reach all the way east through the Singapore Strait on the southern side (The Indonesian side), past Nongsa Point Marina making up to 8kts with the tide in our favor, great breeze and calm seas.

We then had many many tacks as we worked our way south in the passage east of Batam Island, against the tide but with mostly calm seas all the way to a picturesque and not often visited island of Pulau Tuksabangmas.

The island offered an excellent anchorage in about 10m of water on sand, with a killer sunset and gorgeous backdrop of palm trees, a sandy beach and a picturesque lighthouse.
